The work done by Graphic Designers to show animations and videos as a way to explain a particular topic, product or service - makes a lot of difference to the end consumer.
A Graphic Designer(GD) is an artist who works either by hand or on a computer software to create visual effects and concepts that become one of the important aspects of communication from the business to customers. The design and effects in the form of advertisements, magazines, catalogues etc become a core part of sales and revenue generation.
A GD creates visual and text based design and effects and shares information in the form of websites and print elements that helps end users to understand the company's product and service better.
The work and function of the GD becomes an integral part of marketing and sales. They work in tandem with teams in advertising, public relations and marketing. They try to understand the requirement of each team as well as the mood in the market. On basis of various briefs received from their team, they create the necessary set of marketing products like brochures and logos, advertising ideas like banners and TV or mobile ads etc.
Skills needed to become a GD:
Excellent understanding of art and design.
MUST HAVE AN IMPRESSIVE PORTFOLIO OF DESIGNS AND IDEAS
Creativity and visual ideation, presentation skills
Communication and interpersonal skills
Good working knowledge of design tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, Advanced Typography and Advanced 3D modeling and others
Excellent knowledge of graphics, animations, design theory, project management, marketing tools and products etc
Knowledge of tech tools like UI and UX, Web design, along with other areas like branding and packaging
Types of jobs available for a GD: (Either on a Full time or Freelancer role)
Graphic Designer - Will create a variety of logos, brochures, flyers and other requirements as mentioned by client
Creative Director - Will lead a team and project to create designs, ideas, ads etc for clients
UX Designer - Will focus on User experience aspects on Apps and websites.
UI Designer - Will create an uninterrupted User Interface on apps and websites to ensure smooth working of the products.
Production Artist - Works on assisting graphic designers with basic layouts and designs and ensure timely production of all materials as needed
Product Developer - Will create specific products as in case of services like greeting cards, gifts, books etc
Art Director - Handles all the departments to create wonderful visual styles and designs for magazines, newspapers and TV productions
Marketing specialist - Works with marketing teams to understand what works in current trends and accordingly creates designs and layouts
Multimedia Artists and Animators - Specialised in animation, these artists create 3d and motion graphics to make visually impacting campaigns

Responsibilities:
Study design briefs and determine requirements
Schedule projects and define budget constraints
Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design
Test graphics across various media
Amend designs after feedback
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Candidate Profile:
Proven graphic designing experience
A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
